On June 14, 2019, Vice President Han Hong and his delegation attended the “2019 China Xizang Development Forum” jointly sponsored by the Information Office of the State Council of China and the People’s Government of the Xizang Autonomous Region in Lhasa, Xizang.
Jiang Jianguo, vice minister of the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee, read out a congratulatory letter from General Secretary Xi Jinping.
The Chairman of the Tibet Autonomous Region, Qizala, delivered the keynote speech.
At the one-day forum, representatives from 38 countries, state ministries and local leaders, experts and scholars, and nearly 160 people jointly discussed the construction of Tibet under the background of the Belt and Road Initiative. The themes of the sub-forums are “Tibet in the Silk Road Civilization”, “Tibet’s role in the Construction of the Belt and Road”, and “Tibet’s opening up and the inheritance and development of Tibetan culture”.
Vice President Han Hong and Professor Zhan Xun were invited to make speeches at the sub-forum of “Tibet in the Silk Road Civilization”, and respectively released the latest relevant research results of the School of Public Administration and the Pan-Himalayan Regional Communication Research Center of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China.
Vice President Han Hong introduced the important value and construction status of mainstream media and its integrated media communication in Tibetan culture inheritance and communication in Tibetan areas from the aspects of “the development of Tibetan satellite TV and the protection of Tibetan ethnic cultural rights and interests” and Professor Zhan Xun on “Improving the communication power of Party media wechat public account in Amdo Tibetan areas”, and put forward specific suggestions on further improving their production and communication efficiency. It triggered the hot discussion and resonance of the experts at home and abroad.
